May Edition - 2026
In a city like Calcutta, where conversations spill onto streets and time stretches just enough to hold one more story, places are rarely just places - they become part of a larger rhythm.
Artsy has always been one such corner. A space shaped as much by the aroma of fresh coffee as by the people who gather here - lingering over ideas, chance encounters, quiet afternoons, and shared curiosities.
With Artist Room, we hope to extend that space a little further. A continuation of our values: a place to share what we’re brewing, explore new art, rediscover the city that inspires us, and reflect on the many small moments that make up our everyday.
Whether you’ve been a regular, a passerby, or someone yet to walk through our doors, this is for you.
Welcome to Brewing at Artsy - beyond the cup.

FEATURED ARTIST
TAPAN MITRA
THE ART OF THE ABSENT SELF
This month's exhibit explores the work of the Howrah - born serigrapher who redefined
self - portraiture by depicting presence through absence. Trained at Kala Bhavana, Santiniketan, Mitra's prints replace the human figure with personal objects-jeans, garments, fragments to the body - posing quite yet profound questions about identity and selfhood. Held in prestigious collections like the US Library of Congress and the National Gallery of Modern Art, his meticulously crafted serigraphs reflect a deeply philosophical and meditative practice.

The 2nd edition of Artsy Coffee Festival was a rich celebration for the coffee curious and connoisseurs alike, offering a glimpse into India’s evolving specialty coffee landscape. A curated selection of distinct beans - sourced in association with Billi Hu - was on the menu for guests to explore and experiment with.
The highlight of the festival were the Tastemaker events, which were intimate gatherings for a select group of participants to engage hands-on with their brew. Led by our Brewmaster, they embarked on an immersive journey through terroir, processing, and flavour - further elevated by the freedom to experience each coffee across diverse brewing methods.

Summer’s here, and it’s the perfect time to keep things light, fresh, and a little indulgent in the Calcutta heat. Think watermelon and mango with feta, crisp raw mango salads, and plates made for slow afternoons.
It’s also mango season at Artsy. From coconut panna cotta with mango jelly to a mango cream gateaux, cheesecake, and buttery tart - our desserts are a love letter to the king of fruits.
We’re pouring sunshine in every glass too: Earl Grey Fizz, citrusy cold brew, matcha blends, and a chilled maple mocha.
Drop by, stay a while - summer tastes better here.

Artsy introduces Artist Room -
a private dining experience that celebrates design, detail, and the joy of intimate celebrations.
Dining is a multi-sensory experience here, from curated seven-course sit-downs to family-style meals or exclusive gatherings that bring people together around the table.
The menu, personally curated by the expert culinary team, reimagines familiar flavours with a refined simplicity, while the service rhythm remains unhurried and intuitive. Designed collaboratively by Terra Studio and Kwazi Design, the Artist Room is a reflection of Artsy’s core values - a place that values time, taste, and thoughtful company.

Eight years ago, Artsy began as a simple idea - to create a space where good coffee and creativity could quietly coexist. Without a grand plan, it has grown into a fluid meeting point for culture, ideas, and community, shaped entirely by its people. This moment feels less like
a milestone and more like a pause
to reflect on everything that has brought us here. This newsletter emerges from that intention - to stay connected beyond the cafe,
and share our collaborations, journeys, and everyday moments.
If Artsy has ever been part of your day, your work, or your story,
this is for you.
